Google has announced that user would not be able to unlock their phones by saying “Ok Google”. This decision taken after keeping security aspects in mind.

The company had announced in CES 2019 that they will soon make changes to Voice Match and OK Google FEATURES. The company has taken this decision with the intention of securing the smartphone, so that no one will be able to unlock any Android phone through voice recording.

According to media reports, after 9.31 updates, all Android devices will lose Google’s full voice unlocking power. However, this feature has been discontinued after the Google app’s 9.27 update in Moto Z and pixel XL devices.

Now the Android device will be able to access Google Calendar, Email, Reminders and Shopping lists only by using Google OK. While using the first voice match, the user could unlock the entire phone. Keeping in mind the security, the company decided to not offer this feature in Pixel3 and Pixel 3XL
